The MADMEN were busy again in August, multiplying in numbers and racking up mileage in our trusty chariots.
After all the waiting and wondering the current MADMEN Co-Chairs remain in office. Marsha Carter and Barney Rael will continue to head up the Tucson chapter of the DMC.
MINI Munchies was at Macayo’s Eastside where the food and drink are great and the company even more so. Our hostess for the evening was unable to attend as her trusty chariot fell ill, but we were still able to enjoy ourselves. In addition to new member faces in attendance we also recruited another new membership!
Several MADMEN journeyed to Mesa for an Elvis Tribute concert with three Elvi performing, then motored to North Phoenix for a Metal Elvis performance. We arrived back in Tucson at 4am. That’s right, 4am. Who says the MADMEN are old and staid?

MADMEN were busy and prolific in July.
Our MINIs were hungry for Greek so we munched at Fronimo’s Greek Cafe on a very hot and humid evening.
The DMC annual meeting was well attended. The election results are posted in the forum, congratulations to this years team of officers. The food, service and room temperature at the chosen location were not up to what we have experienced in the past and we were quite upset about it. We apologize to any of you who were uncomfortable and/or not fed.
MINI of Tucson held an open house for new and old MINI owners with plenty of barbecue, visiting and we made new friends and enrolled new members! The road rally through the mean and dangerous streets of Tucson, into the foothills and out to Agua Caliente Park was quite an adventure for some but we all arrived intact and enjoyed more visiting and a stroll through the park. Excellent route!
Last Saturday Breakfast was at May’s Counter, chicken and waffles a specialty. It may have been breakfast time but dinner items were also being served, so everybody was well fed and happy. We also got some more new members enrolled!
August events are:
MINI Munchies at Macayo’s Mexican Kitchen on Broadway August 8.
Wild Boar Ranch Weekend in Show Low August 23-25.
Last Saturday Breakfast at Happy Rooster August 31 with a short drive to follow.
