08 MCS

Hey guys. Took my (as yet unnamed) MINI to the shop on Saturday morning. Less than 2 months old, and already needs some (minor, I hope) surgery. Window motor on passenger side is fried. Basically, when I hit the button to put the window down, it goes down as it should, but when I press the button for it to come up, it goes up, gets to the top, and goes right back down again. Thought it might just be an electrical gremlin, and service advisor tried to reinitialize the computer. However, I was told that the dealerships have been advised to be on the lookout for this as the 08 has a new motor design for the windows and they are getting reports of this being an issue. Grrrr..... Being a new owner, I'm terrified that something is going to get jacked up when they remove my door panel. Anything I should be on the lookout for?

sounds like the same ol' problem that they've had had all along. I had mine replaced several times on my '04; (knock on wood) not yet on my '07. It's all under warranty and don't worry - they have had LOTS of practice fixing this particular problem!
