Good find! More info on Motoringfile below too! Sounds like BMW/Mini is taking this as a serious entry into the market. Thats great to see/hear/read.

Come on Mark, can't you talk them into an Arizona test? ;) Time to use those MiniUSA connections!
But at a monthly cost of $850, driving the Mini E will not be cheap.

Only customers with lockable garages or some other secure space in which to charge the car will be eligible to lease the Mini E.

The car can be plugged into any standard wall outlet. But drivers will be able to charge the car in just 2.5 hours using a special wallbox that will be installed in customers' garages.

The car will be officially unveiled to the public at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. BMW will accept lease applications after that. Leases will begin early next year.

BMW said it will select specific customers based on a variety of demographic and location requirements.

Strange place to plug in my GPS? :)

I just got an email from MINI about this.

Here is the official MINIUSA info about it.
http://www.miniusa.com/?eid=177&tid=624 ... rn/MINIE-m

I'm really excited. I think that MINI is going to breakthrough again!
204 hp 220 FP torque and 0-60 in 6.2 sec.

Not bad for a car powered by a big battery.
Still driving a Mini. No matter the cost.

Funny you say that Dan, we were talking about how AZ would've been a great testing ground for the new MINI..

You should urge Mark to send in an Application for the MINI E.... :D He won one contest, didn't he? :D  It would be cool to have one of our members have one of the first MINI E drivers!
