Yeah, i posted a thread in Tech Talk awhile back about how they work.

Because 'Photo metal detecting sensors planted in the ground at a set distance apart to calculate speed by amount of time lapsed between triggers' didn't fit on a yellow warning sign.

Texas is a great place to motor around...so many things to see and do. (not in much in West Texas though) But East Texas, Hill country, along the Louisiana border.....lots of cool things to see, great roads, neat twisties and dips and hills.... We love exploring Texas.

Sorry about the HiJack there....Now pack to the regularly scheduled Radar GPS Talk.

actually,I believe some of the fixed ones do have radar in them.. like the ones at 90th and Shea. they are red light running and speed. I pick up a x band there only when approching from the west.. I was told they are radar from a phx cop.

The escort 9500s have the ability to TAG the locations.. it will then remember them next time you pass them. the new 9500 has the ability to have the locations downloaded via internet..

Yep, correct, i know some of the intersection/red light cameras do have radar in them as they note the speed on the picture when taking the image for the red light running also. Some of the cities are using different systems, from Redflex or American Traffic Systems, so I doubt they all use the exact same setup.
