Hello from Mynes Performance :)

Postby mike@mynes » Sat Dec 06, 2008 2:00 am

Hi everyone, we finally got a 2006 R53 and would like to join the club. I have to say, this little car is a lot more fun to drive than my old BMW E46 4-door. The car is going to stay 100% stock until we are completely finished with our Standalone EMS (Mynes Engine Management System). The development phase has been completed and we are now moving into the testing phase. Here's a little demo of the product:

In the meantime, we managed to tweak the stock ECU a little bit on the S and got an extra 17WHP out of it (from 179WHP to 196WHP).

For those of you who are not familiar with us, here's a little introd:

Evo & Subaru shop: Yes, we started out as an Evo shop and still have the white evo that pushes over 900whp on our Mustang Dyno. We are also building a full-blown Subaru with all the bells and whisles.

Some of the MINIs that we have tuned:
- the MINI USA Corporate Dragster (formerly known as the Fireball M600 Flamethrower; now it's the Dragster for ABF Peformance) that's built by our associate partner, Dr. Hubie Fuh. This car is running the MoTeC M400 EMS.

- Tex Guthrie's Cooper-S = who has the highest WHP for a supercharged motor @ 218WHP (Stock ECU)

- Kalvin's car = we scaled the larger injectors in his car to run better, the car is still powered by the SAFC; contrary to the rumor, Mynes did not blow up his car as a result of the 'tune'. I've spoken to Kal and he said the problem was due to prolong running of the car on "3" cylinders :( = (SAFC)

- A few MINIs that run at the local NASA Events tuned on stock ECUs... most of these are set up by Doug over at Racetechnik.

- More than a few Street MINI's... most of them are on NAM, i think... Typical S-models get over 200whp after the tune...

- The Mynes 2006 Cooper-S (BONE STOCK) - started at 179WHP, by the time we finished tweaking the stock ECU, car is pushing 196WHP (Torque stayed the same at 153 since we didn't do anything to alter the boost level). Car is 100% STOCK.

Software Tuning Tools: unlike many of the tuners out there who use 'off the shelf tuning software', we use our own software. If you have any questions, pls feel free to PM me :)

We also have the factory BMW Tool that can perform all the diagnostic functions that you get from the dealership. So if you guys need some work done on your MINI, pls feel free to contact me for a quote.

cheers.

Welcome Mike!

Looking forward to setting the date for another Dyno day in January? I think this would be the third year in a row, and always had a nice turn-out. :)

Thanks guys. We look forward to the next dyno day. We've made some improvements to our dyno setup so it's much easier to position and strap the MINI down now.

cheers.
