I have a friend who would like to rent a Mini and meet us at MITM. But, she called a Mini dealer and was told that they don't rent Mini's because it lowers their value? Is this true? If not do you know where she could rent one?

They rent them at the rental place (Hertz?) at MNS.

Yep, the Hertz rental on location rents them, but not sure if they have any limitations on mileage, etc. But we've had members rent themselves a Mini for events when their Mini was in for service or repair.

Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car also rents them, pretty pricey though. They have a couple locations here in Phoenix.

I rented the first 2002 Mini I drove from National Rent-A-Car, but I don't believe they offer them anymore. Even then it was like $100 a day, and 100 miles max per day of rental. Anything over was like 25 cents per mile, to discourage any long distance drives... hehe.

I was hoping she could rent one in Denver and just meet me with out having to fly out here. Thanks for all your wisdom in this matter.

I'd have her give Ralph Schomp Mini a call and see if they have any suggestions. Pretty good folks there that help with Minis in the Mountains each year.

She tried and the lady there was so rude to her. That is who told her they don't rent Mini's because it drops the value of the car..

Why don't you post something on the NAM Site? Here's the link ... http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/
Maybe someone in Denver will reply with information -
I know our Hertz behind MNS rents them - last year when I took my car in for service, they charged $45 per day
Good luck!

Enterprise in Scottsdale has one too. Just have her call the local rental places, one of them's bound to have one available.

Thats how I got to Vegas last year. We flew in and rented one from Hertz behind the dealer and drove to Vegas and back. They knew where we were going and didn't limit our mileage.
