2007 / 2008 S Model Recall

Postby Bob S » Thu Feb 26, 2009 7:29 pm

Just saw this on the NHTSA site - http://tinyurl.com/adks7e

Some 07 and 08 S models have tailpipes that protrude past the bumper and some folks have been burned.

Yes, we got our notices in the mail the other month and as soon as you take your car in for service they will replace them. It is enforced so the only way not to have them replaced is to not take your car to the dealer for service! Hard to get warranty work done that way!! :(

Stand in the middle of any S model back to 2002 and open the boot and get your feet to close to lift something heavy out of the back and you can definitely feel that heat... ive felt it when i got too close on our 05S, but not actually burned thankfully... the Alta protrudes further than the stock, but well, it sounds better :)

Sounds like that was what was reported here... ouch...

I burnt myself with the JCW tips... man that sucked! It was like the first month of ownership and didn't even think about it... but it only took one time to remember forever LOL

Mine was fixed, per the recall notice, last month when I was in for service.
