Hey, we just went to Performance Muffler, (the place Sushil told everybody about) and got the "One Ball Mod" done to the MINI. It sounds great! :D Only 30$.... ChEaP! :)

I posted the video of how it sounds on youtube. Enjoy! Also, any feedback would be appreciated. ;)

This is what it looked like before the mod. After it, the muffler on the left was removed.

A little cheaper than mine too. Not much though!

Just got Nudnik snipped a couple days ago at the same shop.

MUCH better.

Not a huge "kick in the seat of the pants" change in power, but more like the car finally hacked up a hairball and is breathing free and easy. I got the best gas mileage I've ever gotten on my trip down to the Old Pueblo via Globe this weekend (directly following the conversion on Thursday).

It sounds great--not a lot louder, but deeper and more burble on throttle-off deceleration. Part-throttle response putting around town is nicer, too.

Me likey!

While down here I also did an airbox mod, too.

That's the "Ghetto CAI" I was refering to above.

Add a K&N drop in filter to that and You have similar results to an after market cold air intake while retaining a factory look.

Where is Performance Muffler located, and is there anyone in particular I should talk to there?

This mod doesn't apply to your R56 Michelle, this mod is for the previous R53 Cooper S that had an oddball exhaust design.

The stock R56 exhaust is a bit more straight-through sensible, though it has its own restrictive devices too :)

Hmmm. That's a bummer. I just talked to Performance, and they didn't even ask whether I was R53 or R56. Guess I can cancel that appt.

I figured it was what you were talking about. I found instructions on NAM and whipped it up in an afternoon. It sounds great, especially with the one-ball thrown in!

MINImama, cant reply to your PM, but I was talkin about the shop on 19th Ave. But i know his brother has a shop and his father has a shop, so I would make a safe bet that they are also doing quality work there. take it by and have him call russ to know that performance muffler takes care of MINIs!

I had the mod done as well this weekend and Russ did a super job in less than 30min's. A little better "rumble" and I did notice a difference off the line. Worth the $40. :D

Don - NICE!!! Glad to hear that Russ took care of you. He installed my exhaust after AMViV and did a great job, and he's just a nice guy, too.
