Anyone have a gps type unit?? I was looking at the cobra or escort models for a friend but wanted to see if anyone has one. He wants something that will go off near the new photo units. he drives by three on the way to work now and knows he will not always remember. Anyone??

You can't set the locations of the new photo unit on a V-1

I have a older Escort, but it does not work with the new laser radars that most cities use now.

yeah, but that don't work in Colorado City Texas....Your out of state plates will get you stopped there for even being close to the speed limit. Better to know where they are, especially in speed trap areas and then drop to under the limit for a while.

I don't speed much anymore, but sure like to have the little beeps and lights with me in side the car better than worrying about bright lights and loud screeches behind the car. :D

That must be why the state of Texas is not on our list of places we desire to motor to or through.

I got pulled over in Texas last year for going 4 miles over! Just a warning but set me back 45 minutes!

Nothing "picks up" the fixed cameras, they don't emit anything to measure speed, they have sensors in the road.

Same here on the mobile units with my Escort 8500, but the signs are plenty of warning for those, big yellow triangular things? hehe...

I have a V1 as well. I didnt know the permanent photo "radar" didnt give a signal until after i received a ticket. Now I have all of the permanent photo rardar locations and red light camera locations in my Garmin Nuvi Gps. It throws me a warning in plenty of time.
