MINI's in the body shop

It had to happen sooner or later  ... Wednesday morning on my way to work a very large dog ran out in the street and slammed it's self into the right side of my new MINI. $1200.00 worth of damage on a car I haven't even made a payment on yet

So I dropped the car off at Elwood's today and now I'm driving a Chevy Aveo :? ... Power nothing included... Do people actually buy these things of their own accord :?:

The Aveo is "Chili Red" and it's actually bigger than the MINI as I saw several MINI's on the way home... makes me want mine back real soon :(

So sorry to hear about that Hugh! That really sucks. :( Elwood will take good care of it though. Jack's (my SB mini) middle name is Elwood since he's been there so many times...

That sucks, Hugh. Patty's right, though, it's in good hands with Elwood. Here's hoping for a speedy return. :D

Most def the best place to be if you are an injured MINI. Have no fear!

Thank you everyone for your advice on Elwood's... looks like they have done a lot of MINI's... I was the third one there on Monday!

Fast forward to Tuesday morning... TPI goes off for the RR tire... didn't know the Aveo even had one of these high tech items. Anyway after the second gas station I found one that actually had an air line... filled up the offending tire and continued on to work.

Should have known something was amiss when I was told they were putting air in the tire when I picked up the rental car on Monday.

Checked the tire again at lunch time and it looked fine, but when it was time to go home I noticed a screw head protruding from the RR tire. A phone call to Enterprise produced an exchange vehicle after about an hour of messing about. This time it's a Kia Rio... A little bit better than the Aveo as it has a place to plug in my iPod and actually does have a bit of power under the hood... no I didn't say it was a "GP"

anyone know if elwoods is state farm certified? I need some work done and would prefer to take my baby to a place that knows minis.

They used to be, yes. Not sure if that's changed since late '08.

I believe it did... Continued on it's way northbound after slamming into my MINI's right side...

I think I'm having MINI withdrawal syndrome... Just called Ellwood's and it's baking in the oven...
