Just got back from the Tucson Classic Car Show and we have good news:
Kim Perkins took 1st Place in the Foreign 1980 - Present Class with his '95 Classic Cabriolet!
Kim received a plaque and a big cash award. Congrat's, Kim!
All day Kim was saying that it wasn't fair to have Toyotas, Nissans and BMWs in the same class. Well, I guess it wasn't fair to those other marks.
The MADMEN had 3 classics at the show: Don Wark's Clubman, Kim's Cabriolet and Patty & Jon's Cooper S.
We put up our new club banner on a nifty portable stand that Barney made and passed out cards. The show was packed with close to 500 entries and there was a constant flow of spectators throughout the day.
We took a free shuttle bus to a local Tai restaurant for lunch and cooled down after an unseasonably hot morning at the show.
The local British club was out in force with 2 Lotus Elites, Jags, Triumphs, and a London Taxi to name a few.
The president of the Oregon Mini Society, Craig House and his wife Jane were at the show. They have 2 classics and plan to move to Tucson in the near future. They were here scoping out the real estate market and local car scene. Welcome to Tucson Craig and Jane!
