DRP - South Mountain Sunset Fun Run - Sat Jun 28

Please join us for a Sunset run up to the top of South Mountain on Saturday evening, June 28th.

Sunset for June 28th is approximately 7:42 PM
This location makes for a really great view of the valley, especially at Sunset.
Meet at parking lot near Scorpion Gulch at 7:00, leave for the radio towers at 7:15.
This lot is to the north side (right) just after Central curves to the west, (right)

If we don't see some interest in the bowling event afterward, I'll kill it and only do the run up the mountain.

okay people, i find it hard to beleive that only Dee wants to run up the mountain. Everytime we go here people come out of the woodwork to challenge the twisties and see the view. So get off your arses, be thankful that this is a local run, and RSVP.

I am on-call for work, so I will have to skip the bowling, but otherwise I am 100% in.

FYI, due to a lack of response for the bowling part of this event, I'm going to make this just the Fun Run up South Mountain. We will get to the Gilbert area in July for Ice Cream, so no fear those DRPers in that area, we'll be there in a few weeks!

Anyone that wants to make the run, please join us at the meet-up point in the first post!

wonder why so few responses? I luved that little road last time.. and would be going again...however, I had a previous planned event...taking dee's "FAV" other vehicle (myH2) out for rock crawlin near San Diego....

Yeah, its a great road, great view. Come summer time though I think we tend to get a case of the "it's too darn hot to go out im staying home" mode, hehe. Especially with gas at $4+ still. But that's why we did this one at sunset so its a bit cooler, close to the city, etc.

We did a lunch run up there last year and ran into these foks jumping off the back of the mountain, paragliding, too cool.
