First, How can I remove my rearview mirror. I didnt want to break it without knowing how to pop it off first.

Next, for Autocross, is it ok to remove your rearview mirror?

Ok, I got the mirror off, and it seems there is something attached to my mirror internally.. hmm.. I'll have to see what options the original owner purchased. Its not autodimming and doesnt have any buttons. Any thoughts?

So now the question is if its ok to remove for Autocross. If anyone knows, let me know..

I don't recall any rules about removing it. The wire maybe your homelink system, you could check on NAM. Why do you want to get rid of it?

I have a cruise cam mount and I want to record my runs. The mirror is pretty big and without the mirror in the way, it would record a lot more of the path im taking..

Most people just turn the mirror sideways so that you're looking down the skinny side.

I believe the mirror contains the sensors and such for the remote control/keyfob. So i believe if you unhook those, your key wont unlock your doors, etc.

There were a bunch of discussons on NAM about people wanting to replace their rearview mirrors and finding a solution for that wiring. I've always found the mirror on my 05 to be too large, and in my way, on a number of sharp right hand turns where i end up looking under the mirror to see.

I found out from Brad from AZSolo that its not allowed to remove your mirror unless it was missing when you got it or if its a part thats considered rare or very expensive to replace. He said when you move to super modified then you can remove it.
