How can I tell what mods have been done to a MINI?

Postby Mrono » Wed Jun 04, 2008 8:03 pm

I'm going to be back in Phoenix soon and i'll have my MINI then, one thing i've been curious is if the previous owner did any mods to it. We bought it from a guy who sold it for a friend because his friend didn't have time to sell it so i didn't get a chance to ask about that.

How can I tell what mods have been done, what do i look for, etc?

springs(lowered), exhaust (louder bigger), Intake (growls), wheels (not stock). ECU flash (faster), stripes (obvious)

The Pulley: which you can find on the left side of the engine block (shine a flashlight on it, if you see a namebrand or its prettier, its aftermarket). Everything else engine-wise might be harder to see unless you climb under and over the engine. But i am sure if you come to any of the socials, there are enough tech-nerds that could tell you if there aftermarket parts added...

dude... just look for new looking parts, chances are if they look/sound different then it is aftermarket.
