Yeah, we've gone that way in the past. Up 285 to 24 to 91. Had lunch in Buena Vista if I recall the first year.

Last year we stayed on 285 and went through Fairplay and on into Breckenridge for lunch where we ran into a bunch of other Mini folks eating and on there way to Copper also. Going through Breck adds about 15 miles if I recall, so not that much difference from going through Leadville.

Really not a bad way to go from Pagosa, its gorgeous either way.

Here's a Map Link, to those not familar with the area that we are talking about, from Pagosa Springs, to Copper Mountain Resort.

The first two years I've printed up some trip books for everyone in our group, that included the PDF that Minis in the Mountains puts out with the schedule and info for the event, as well as some trip maps, and contact cell phone numbers so we can keep in touch over the weekend, or if your looking to find someone(s) to caravan home with, since we all dont necessarily come back together at the same time. I'll do the same again this year if those going would like me too.

Chili Mini will be there with two. Barbara and I are registered.

We are leaving on Tuesday, taking a slow trip up so we can get two nights at altitude before making the final assault on the 9700 ft. summit at Copper.

The The Holiday Inn Express we stayed at least year and are registered in this year was $95 when we booked, now showing $100, if your under $100 isn't firm.
