Car Show! May 16th 2009 - Come on out! (3rd Saturday)

Hey fellow DMCers!

My sister, Maddie, (16) just told me to go onto the MINI Club website and post this. My sister is in a group called AVID in High School. (AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, basically a College-Prep class) AVID is hosting a Car Show in the South Parking lot of Desert Ridge High School. The time is TBA, I will find out within the week. As some of you know, I told you about a similar event a while back. That got cancelled by my band director, right after I had everyone's RSVPs. :( But, this one is for sure! So, the cause is for the AVID class to go to Europe. THIS IS A FUNDRAISER. So, if you can make it, come on out and you'll see us there at the car show too! :)

WHAT: A Fundraiser Car Show
WHEN: May 16th, 2009. 9AM-1PM
WHERE: The South parking lot of Desert Ridge High School.

On the map, the very south side of the school is the Gym and Auditorium, so it is that parking lot. This school, (to give you an idea of where it is) is right near the Golden Spoon that you all went to for Ice Cream not too long ago.

WHO: This group and all other types of cars and car clubs.
WHY: To have fun on a Saturday night!
COST: My sister just updated me today:
-$20.00 when paid at entrance
-$15.00 when pre-paid registration. (See attached registration form for more details)
-$10.00 Club Discount for if 5 or more cars show up.
(I think we'll have no problem with that!) ;) Maddie has told me that the club discount only applies to the people who send in the registration ahead of time.

This is turning out to be a pretty big event guys, so it should be real fun! :)Thanks all of you for supporting this if you are! :D Hope to see you all there! :)

Not sure yet. Depends on how busy the Dog Wash is and what time the car show is. We will try but can't promise anything. Also, if it is a fundraiser is there a fee to go?

As stated in the registration form we need 5 MINIs firm on going to get the club rate.

Please RSVP here or to me directly so we can get a count. I will not be able to make it myself. :(

This is the same day as Pavilions so after this there will be more hanging out there. :lol: :lol:

This one gets done before Pavs so yeah, it'll be easy to catch both.

Couple questions...

Do we have to be there by 9:00am? some 'orginised' shows require you to be there the whole time.

Deadline for pre-registering?

I'm gonna have to be a maybe at this point.

I'm gonna have to ask about the time question, but the deadline for pre-registration is the day of the show. Anytime before that you can register, but if you get there and haven't pre-registered, you have to pay full price. :)

Hey guess what you guys! The Car Show just got CANCELED! Isn't that great? :? :cry: :cry: :cry: SORRY! My sis just said that I have to tell you because so far they only had two cars registered and none of you guys have signed up, so it's a no-go. :( Thanks to those of you that were interested though! :)

From the looks of it people were trying to get the group of cars together since the group of 5 or more had to be registered at the same time in order to do the group reservation.

Sorry Tate, but I think the organizers need to do a bit more planning and have it all in place more than a few weeks ahead of time to have a successful event. These things don't just fall together.

Maybe next time.

Yeah, totally agree. My sis said they do that ALL THE TIME. Make an event happen in like, two days, and end up cancelling it. :?
