This is a really fun event, absolutely gorgeous drive and views. There really is no such thing as a bad road in Colorado.

Typical trip in prior years has had us driving up about 8 hours to Pagosa Springs, CO on Weds, having dinner there, get a good nights sleep, and then about a 4 hour drive into Copper Mountain Resort Thursday morning arriving in time for lunch.

Unless someone has another suggestion, that is the plan we are starting with, but we have plenty of time to think about some other ideas if somoene has one to throw out there!

The trip home is usually split up, with some staying an extra day or two and taking a long route home, or some do the 12 hours straight through on Sunday.

Yeah, i mentioned in the first post what we've done in years past. Leaving Weds morning for Pagosa, drive in the rest of the way on Thurs morning/afternoon. It's an awesome drive.

We're all signed up also

The biggest group has stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, but there are a few other options right around that hotel if you have a deal or just prefer another place. Then we stage at the gas station right night to the Holiday Inn Express on Thursday morning to head up to Copper

Us to. All registered at the HIE at Pagosa the night of the 5th, and at Copper the 6th to the 10th. We're staying over an extra night and starting home Monday.

Suppose i should start thinking about having a Mini for this trip huh? hehe.

hey thanks friends...just reminded me to make my reserves for Pagosa...I plan on running the gauntlet with you this year..rather then my solo ventures of past years....Dan please get a car...mini of course :lol:
