I would not recommend Works Garage either. They used to go under a different company name and were banned from North American Motoring. I don't know the politics behind it, but it seems as they weren't delivering product that was paid for and then closed shop.

weird, victor has always been very cool to me and helped me out in a pinch a time or two.

Let's not get the two confused. Miniworks is Victor and I don't think he is around anymore. Volkwerks is a great company. I have had them do my coilovers and bushings on Jack. They will soon be installing new bushings on the GP.

When are you taking the GP in to do the bushings? I have my FCAB's sitting here needing an install.

Not sure yet. I've already purchased new Powerflex bushings, but I want to take it in and have Jeremy put it up on the lift and take a look at the original bushings first. I have a feeling that they may not need to be replaced just yet. I was just TOLD by the dealer that they needed to be replaced...

You are welcome to go with me when I do though and talk to them about your Mini.

There are either 2 Victors or they must be one and the same because Works Garage (next to Dynocomp) is owned by Victor.

Victor is one and the same...just to be called Mini Works. I didn't realize he was still around. I thought he moved his business overseas.

Nope, he's had various overseas versions of his websites/products for a few years. He and his son were at the June DRP ice cream at Gelato Spot/32nd St/Camelback, but I didn't know he'd opened a new shop in town either.

keep me updated on when you are going. The dealer told me the same thing today about my bushings. My bushings are a tad different than the powerflex in that they are "off-set" to increase castor.

I finally got around to getting my car to Volkwerks. Their price was very fair and the turn around time was pretty quick. This is one of the few jobs I didn't want to tackle - as it involves dropping the front subframe.

p.s. this was for the FCAB bushings.

Did you have the Alta PSRS's installed? How are you like them? About how much did the install cost? Thanks, thinking of getting some myself.

I went with the Mini Madness bushings. They are designed like the Powerflex, but with a harder formula. Some of the "modifications" needed to keep the Alta units on the car were a little silly in my opinion.

Braking is MUCH better now - I can stab the 6 piston wilwoods and not go darting all over the place. It feels like steering return on-center is more fluid quicker now too. Other than that, I can't notice too terribly much on our crap roads.

I don't want to sway you from the Alta - lots of people still like them!

Do you do Auto-X only? I will probably be out at the NASA November event with another MINI in HPDE.

I've run some HPDE days with NASA in the past when I had my R53. Will have to get the R56 out there sometime. Not a fan of running at PIR, I like Firebird, close to home.

I've heard the Alta PSRS give more caster that helps the steering feel that the R56 lacks. May wait till mine are worn out.
