We were at the Lexus dealer yesterday and the saleman said that they, the Royal dealers, had secured the MINI franchise for Tucson. It won't be in the Automall area though. I guess the new Fiat dealer didn't want the MINI's blowing the doors off their 500's

22nd and Kolb..........Construction slated to start at the end of August. Opening around the first of the year.

The architect is a fellow British car owner, drives a 1961 MGA. They will be keeping part of the old Royal dealership building and add on to it. Should be cool. Kim has designed a half dozen dealerships.

No. It will be run by the Royal Automotive Group. Paul Weitman is the owner. Royal has Jaguar, Kia, Buick, Land Rover, Lexus, CADILLAC and GMC dealerships in Tucson.

That is great news for everyone in Arizona.Now that there is another dealer in the state, Penske stores won't be able to get away with the pricing lock they have had for the last 10 years.

Will be interesting to see if they bring MINI techs in from another state. If the techs are all new to MINI there will be quite a learning curve.

SE = Desert Toyota
SW= Frys shopping center
NE= another shopping center
NW= Ace Hardware, brakemasters and gas station
\No old Royal store anywhere near there???

While checking out a used Countryman at Porsche Audi dealer that the MINI dealer was going in almost across the street at the old Royal Kia dealership location west of Swan and 22nd? Of course we can't confirm that, we were talking to a used car salesman, so who do you believe. :lol:
