Pretty scary story on the age of tires being sold at tire shops and auto centers around the country. Just because it's "new" on the shelf, doesn't mean it hasn't been sitting on someones shelf for years or even more than a decade in some cases.
In Europe, if the tire is over 6 years old, they STRONGLY urge you to replace your tires, regardless of tread wear and depth.
