How old are your tires? Important even if "new"

Postby danjmcs » Wed Jul 09, 2008 11:24 pm

Pretty scary story on the age of tires being sold at tire shops and auto centers around the country. Just because it's "new" on the shelf, doesn't mean it hasn't been sitting on someones shelf for years or even more than a decade in some cases.

In Europe, if the tire is over 6 years old, they STRONGLY urge you to replace your tires, regardless of tread wear and depth.

Important info in this video on how to look at the coding on your tires and see when it was made.

Maybe that "great" deal that you got was for a reason? Better safe than sorry.
