Oh, yeah. I thought everybody knew about the giant acorn drop. Locals should have filled you in. Its worth the trip from anywhere in the region, and not nearly as crowded as Times Square in NY, so that makes it a double plus. Put in your plans for next New Years Eve.

Sounds like a good time! Probably a good 3.5-4 hour drive from Shelby though. Okay, maybe 2.5-3 with Trace ;)

RALEIGH - Over 50,000 people rang in the New Year for 2008 in downtown Raleigh as they flooded Fayetteville Street to enjoy music, food, fireworks, and more.
