Need to move again!

Postby jax archillies » Wed May 07, 2008 3:36 am

...we got an email from the landlord this evening stating that our 1 year lease is now canceled as she lost her job and has to foreclose on the house. so, we're here until the end of July, than we have to find something close by and of equal size. with a yard for the 4 dogs. thats gonna be kinda hard.

dammit, we're almost all the way unpacked as well!

so i guess our BBQ housewarming will be a house moving party....

After you move calculate how much further a drive it is for you to work and estimate how much gasoline will be at the time you were planning to move then take the cost increase and back charge or sue the landlord for that amount.

I know this all sounds harsh but renters have rights too. She's only forclosing that property because she needs to save her own LARGER home. She pobably finaced the rental with one of those sub prime mortgages, and your rental payment that used to cover it, now doesn't (due to an inflated percentage rate from a sub prime 2 yr adjustment) and has to foreclose the property (kick you out to the street with little notice and breaking a contract) so she can save her big house in Scottsdale. All of which is illegal and you should have some right unless the rental agreement says you don't.

dang sounds like a nice house you are in!!

You may be able to get moving expenses, but i doubt it. She doesnt have any money. Not going to squeeze anything out of that rock. An she is giving plenty of time to get out (almost 2 months). Good luck on getting gas money...

You can write off moving expenses off your taxes though its not really worth that much.

You can b!tch about it...or you can just "move" on with your life

Better person than me. I would first check the county tax assessor to see what her house is like in Co. What it is valued at that kind of thing. If it is an expensive house someone is helping the landlord pay for it. Then I would as the others suggested ask for money back. I used to be a bill collector and I need to know those little details now. Sad I know! Good luck with whatever your decision is.
