MM - Tubac Collector Car Show/Winery Tour - Jan 23, 2010

Thanks everyone for another great car show and winery tour!

The weather turned out perfect, although a little chilly. (We even had snowball fights in Sonoita!) The car show was moved to the parking lot at the Tubac Golf Resort and the atmosphere was decidedly different at this venue. There were fewer cars on display due to the concerns about the weather, but there was still plenty to see. I loved the Gardner Touring Car!

A big shout out goes to Dean Fey and his staff at the Artist's Palate who served up a tasty lunch for 19 people on time and didn't mind splitting up the check 19 ways. We will be back on our next trip South.

It was great meeting so many new DMC members for the first time. Tonya, Barney, Robert and Stacy, you are always welcome at MADMEN events.

Alexis was there in her new C30. Hot Car! She also tells us that her Mini is back and on the road and purrrrrrrrrring. Glad to see her again.

We had a good group continue on to Nogales, Patagonia, Sonoita and Elgin. The snow capped mountains and brilliant blue skies made for a picturesque FunRun. We stopped at two wineries to taste a bit of the grape. One had a nice fire going in their Tasting Room where Myra and Heather warmed themselves. (What's with these gals from Illinois complaining out the AZ cold?)

It's kind of sad you had to come up with your own "Barney" for Phoenix, but its cute you tried. Good luck with that.

Barney (from Phoenix) and I had a great time. It was nice to meet some new people and go new places in our MINI.
