DRP - Fun Run to Tortilla Flats - June 26, 2010

Well, it doesn't happen often, but just as we got on the 60 to head to Apache Junction we had an issue with a Mini on the run throwing an engine code and no longer running properly.

This is why we have designated front and back cars for the groups, so we happily pulled off and did a quick check and agreed it was running well enough to drive over to Mini of Tempe. To play it safe we took the scenic, surface street routes through Gilbert, Chandler and Tempe and arrived at the dealer safely.

After a couple hours of diagnosis it was deemed primarily a software issue, so after a reboot/reload and some other tweaks, all is good to go!

Hope everyone had a good time, we'll make the next one, and thankfully so will the other now-repaired Mini!

I'm heading to Munich Germany for the month of July (for work) so my wife and I'll miss the June events. Hopefully we'll catch some of the August events.

Thanks to all who came out today to play! big thanks to Scott for taking the lead of the pack! and an even bigger thanks to Dan for A) designing and printing the maps last minute when my busy work week meant I let it slip, and B) sacrificing his own run time to help out a fellow MINI owner who was having troubles!!!!

I duct taped my 6 year old to the hood. Actually I made a camera mount for my tow hook. I use a Go Pro Hero HD camera mounted to it. This is only the 2nd time I have used it, the other being an autocross event a few weeks ago, and I am very happy with the results.
