MM - MGA-MINI Grand Adventure Sept. 20-22

My MINI wants to see the Grand Canyon and apparently so do 40 million people during the summertime. Since my MINI doesn't like being parked in a lot all day while I get on a shuttle bus the date for MINI Grand Adventure is being rescheduled to a less popular season.

Mark you calendars for Sept 20 thru 22.

We will be leaving Friday afternoon or early evening and spending both Friday and Saturday nights in Flagstaff. We'll get an early start on Saturday and go up Highway 89, entering the park from the East at the Desert View Entrance and Visitor Center. After spending the day motoring, walking and being awestruck by Nature we'll take a vote as to the route back to Flagstaff- down through Williams and dinner at Rod's Steakhouse, high elevation route through the Coconino National Forest or back along the canyon rim road we came in on and down to Satchmo's in Flagstaff for barbecue.
Sunday we'll head for home with a stop at either Montezuma Castle or Tuzigoot National Monument.

Lodging choices are Super 8, Holiday Inn and Days Inn, located on either Lucky Lane or around the corner on Butler Ave. We stayed at the Super 8 last year and I plan on maximising my budget there this trip. Links are below.
